2. Tankless or Demand-type Water Heater
There is no need for a tank with this heater type. Heats up 2-5 gallons of water per minute. When tap is turned on, water travels through the pipe while an electric element or a gas burner heats it up. You don’t have to wait for the water to heat up or the tank to fill up. A setback is that this type of heater cannot supply for simultaneous tasks such as washing the dishes while some one is using the shower. You might have to install other units to get an effect. It runs on either natural gas or electricity.
3. Solar Water Heater
A Solar Powered Water Heater uses a storage tank and solar collector. An active solar heater have circulating controls, something the passive one lacks. This heater is very cost-efficient since is source – the solar energy, is free and the unit is durable for at least 5-10 years. The setback of this item is that it is not reliable on cold seasons.
4. Heat Pump Water Heater
This heater is 2-3 time more efficient than the conventional electric resistant water heater. Though, it has a very complex installation process and requires for a professional plumber. Since this uses geothermal heating tools, you will have to use a desuperheater for water heating. It requires a 40-90 degree location all throughout the year with 28.3 cubic meters of space from the rest of the fixtures and it runs on electricity.
5. Tankless Coil And Indirect Water Heater
This type of heater does nor require a tank. As you open the tap, water is heated as it goes past the heating coil in the boiler or main furnace which makes it efficient in the cold seasons but not in warmer places.
